2008 furniture exhibition prepared

(KPL) The 2008 Lao Furniture Exhibition is planned to be held at the National Culture Hall next week, aimed at promoting the consumption of domestic products and export.
In preparation for the annual Lao Furniture Exhibition, the Vientiane Industry and Commerce Service in cooperation with the Lao Furniture Association, on 13 May, organised a meeting to discuss the preparatory work.
The meeting was aimed at urging owners of furniture factories, wood processing factories, businesses engaged in rattan and bamboo production, decorative flowers, and other small-scale businesses and local restaurants to display their products at the exhibition.
The meeting also called on other local business services including banks, telecommunication service and consulting services to participate in the event.
The exhibition will promote local products, household utensils and furniture, and craftsmanship in wood processing as well as help the producers seek new markets.
The event will provide platform for participants to exchange experiences on product development and welcome the upcoming National Arbour Day on 1 June.
The furniture exhibition is expected to open at the National Culture Hall on 19 May.
The meeting was attended by deputy director of the Vientiane Capital Industry and Commerce Service, the director general of the Lao-International Trade Exhibition and Convention Centre, the president of the Lao Furniture Association, businesses and officials concerned.
