Seminar on working overseas held in Champassak
(KPL) A seminar to disseminate the state policy on working abroad and to prevent the women and child trafficking was held recently for the representatives of labour and social-welfare office in 10 districts and representatives from 46 village development fund of Champassak province. The objective of this meeting aimed to offer the knowledge on how to use the manual on working abroad for Lao labour, to prevent the human trafficking and labour migration. It also concentrated to elaborate the labour law in the rural and remote areas. The seminar was also a part of activities of the Lao government to prevent the human trafficking, especially women and child labour. The Labour and Social Welfare Service of Champassak in collaboration with the ministry of labour and social-welfare and International Labour Organisation has actively worked to bring some fund resource and technical assistance to help target villages to improve their living condition. These included the assistance on community strengthening and establish the village development fund.
