Development village cluster building, advises President
(KPL) Mr. Choummaly Sayasone, Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, has called on the authorities in the northern provinces of Bokeo, Luang Namtha, Phongsaly and Oudomsay to pay more attention to building political bases and development village clusters at the grass-roots.
Mr. Choummaly who is also the State President, made the statement at a meeting to review the grass-root, village and development village cluster building in the four northern provinces held in Oudomsay province, on 28-30 April
He pointed that the meeting was aimed at stimulating the implementation of the 8th Party Congress resolution, the resolutions of the central government as well as the resolutions of the provincial party committees.
The meeting concentrated on the review of the agricultural production in 2008, especially the dry-season rice crop and the cultivation of other cash crops. As far as the grass root building is concerned, the President advised the heads of the focal areas in each province to re-estimate the situation.
In the meeting, a representative of each of the four provinces made a briefing about the situation of the social-economic development in their province.
Deputy prime ministers Asang Laoly and Somsavat Lengsavad also commented on the development village cluster building in the four provinces.
