Bor Mi Tae Chao wins SEA Write Award 2010
(KPL) Poem Bor Mi Tae Chao (not only you) by Ms. Dalaviravong Kanlaya has won Southeast Asia Write Award 2010.
“The poem has been composed on a basis of real experience in assertion of rule of truth (sad ja tham khong sivid), mainly of women who fight for gender equality in society,” said Ms. Dalavilavong.
“Our country has policy and law but we face obstacles such as our custom, tradition and the poverty and these are main causes of inequality in society,” said Ms. Dala.
The award’s official announcement for the Lao author will be held on August 24 and she will receive the award later on November 5 in Bangkok, Thailand, according to Director of Children’s Cultural Centre, Mr. Soubanh Louanglath.
A press conference on the award was held in Vientiane on Augurst 4 with the attendance of Acting President of the Lao Poets’ Association, Ms. Phinlavanh Louangvantha, pressmen and relevant officials.
