Vientiane walks for May Day 2008

(KPL) About 4000 Vientiane capital’s residents gathered at Patouxay “victory arch” for a walk to mark the 122nd anniversary of international workers’ day “May Day” last Thursday’s morning.”
Started at Patouxay, the walk moved along LaneXang avenue and took a U-turn at the Presidential Palace.
A traditional sword dancing also coincided the event with the support by Lao Brewery Co., along with quiz, goods exhibition, and craftsmanship competition.
President of Lao Front for National Construction Mr. Sisavat Keobounphanh, Supervisor for Ideology and Cultural Affairs Mr. Saman Viyaketh, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, ministers and their deputies, business people, international diplomatic corps as well as representatives of international organisations and NGOs took part in the event.
