Master plan draft meeting on ASEAN social-culture community held

(KPL) The second meeting of master plan draft on ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community was held in Luang Prabang province from 28 to 30 April.
The meeting was chaired by Mr Jacky Foo, Director General of ASEAN Department of Singaporean Ministry of Foreign Affaires, where was attended by representatives from 10 ASEAN member countries, and 50 senior officials from ASEAN secretariat.
At the function, the participants discussed on master plan draft on ASEAN socio-cultural community that the draft has already discussed each country for many times, but no has positive result. This problem has risen at the meeting.
The past over time, the master plan draft, has discussion on national level of each ASEAN member countries.
At the 12th ASEAN Summit, in the Philippines, the leaders of ASEAN focused on ASEAN community building in 2015, consists of three pillars of ASEAN are political, Economic and Socio-Cultural communities therefore the ASEAN member countries have to create these draft urgently.
So far, the ASEAN member countries have completed to create master plan on ASEAN economic community, which the leaders of ASEAN approved the plan at the 13th ASEAN Summit in Singapore, November 2007.
The political and stability community draft of ASEAN and plan draft on ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community is expected to be proposed to approve at the 14th ASEAN Summit, which will be held in Bangkok, December 2008.
