Premier receives Japan’s Foreign Ministry delegation
(KPL) Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh received here yesterday a courtesy visit of a high-ranking delegation of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by its senior deputy minister Hitoshi Kimura.
During the amicable talks, Prime Minister Bouasone expressed congratulations and highly valued the achievements of the co-operation and assistance of Japan to Laos under the bilateral co-operation framework as a big contribution to the social-economic development of Laos.
The high-ranking Japanese delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs arrived here on 4 May evening on a one-day visit to Laos as guest of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the visit, the Japanese delegation held a working session with the host led by Mr. Phongsavath Boupha, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Both sides reviewed a number of co-operation projects and Japan-supported projects made in the past and at present. Both sides agreed that the co-operation and assistance from Japan had effectively contributed to the social-economic development of Laos as well as enhanced the relations and co-operation between the two peoples of Laos and Japan.
The two sides also confirmed to continue mutual assistance under the framework of the bilateral co-operation as well as on the international scope for the benefits of the peoples of Laos and Japan.
Mr. Hitoshi Kimura and his delegation yesterday also paid a courtesy visit to Ms. Khempheng Pholsena, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office.
