Senior MIC officials awarded 30-year Lao PDR medals

(KPL) The Ministry of Information and Culture has recently decorated departments and outstanding officials in the ministry medals of the 30th proclaiming anniversary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, in a ceremony held here last week.
Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh, on behalf of the government of the Lao PDR, awarded the medals, including Issara (freedom) Orders First Class to the National Radio Station and three former deputy ministers of Information and Culture.
The Lao Press in Foreign Language, and the National Art Troupe were awarded Labour medals First Class.
Speaking at the function, Mr. Mounkeo Oraboun, Minister of Information and Culture (MIC) highlighted a number of achievements made by the Ministry of Information and Culture in the past few years and pointed to the MIC’s future plan, Mr. Mounkeo also asked the government to provide extra funds to develop its basic infrastructure and to stimulate writers to work harder to produce a great variety of media products to better serve society.
