President of the Republic receives credentials from new ambassadors of Brunei, Portugal, Mexico, Iceland and South Africa

(KPL) The Republic’s President Choummaly Sayasone yesterday received at the Presidential Palace the letter of credentials from the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Brunei Darussalam to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Mr. Johan Thani bin Haji Abdullash, the new ambassador of the Republic of Portugal to Laos, Mr. Antonia Felix Machado Faria e Maya, new ambassador of Iceland, Mr. Gunnar Snori Cunnarsson, new ambassador of the republic of Mexico, Mr. Lui Arturo Puemte Ortega and the new ambassador of the South Africa to Laos, Mr. Douglas Harvey Monro Gibson.
Discussing with the five ambassadors, the Lao President significantly valued the diplomatic relations between Laos and Brunei, Laos-Portugal, Laos- Iceland, Laos- Mexico and Laos-South Africa.
President Choummaly said that the ambassadorial appointment was yet another milestone for the increasing relations between Laos and said countries . It would lay foundation for other types of co-operation.
On this occasion, President Choummaly wished the new ambassadors success in fulfilling their diplomatic mission and hoped that the bilateral relations would be continually enhanced during their term of office.
The new ambassadors affirmed that they would spare no effort to reinforce the ties and co-operation between their respective countries and Laos.
