Laos and Vietnam to cooperate in public administration
(KPL) Laos and Vietnam have agreed to boost information exchange and experiences sharing regarding State organisation, administrative reform and the work of civil servants and local authorities.
The agreement was reached between the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and the Lao General Department of Administration and Civil Servant Management during a current visit to Laos by a MoHA delegation.
The Vietnamese delegation, headed by Deputy Minister Tran Huu Thang, had a working session with a delegation of the Lao General Department, headed by the department Head Bounpheng Mounphosay on May 5.
The two sides also agreed to increase exchange of experts and visits at all level and jointly organise seminars in both countries.
The Vietnamese Home Affairs Ministry will receive Lao officials for short-term training courses.
The same day, the two sides jointly held a seminar on restructuring of local administration and public affairs management.
At the seminar, the Lao side said experiences from Vietnam’s administrative reform over the past 10 years were very useful to Laos in its efforts to build a democratic, transparent and efficient administrative system.
