Vientiane province earns US$ 3 million in the first half

(KPL) In the first six months of 2007-08 fiscal year, Vientiane province has earned over US$ 3 million from export of agriculture produce, minerals, non-timber forest products, animals, industrial products and handicrafts.
Acting Head of Industry and Commerce Service of Vientiane province Mr Phouveing Sipaseuath said so early this month.
The province has also obtained US$ 17,000 from transit goods, while the import in the first half of the fiscal year was US$ 954,000. Agriculture production machinery, vehicle spare-parts and consumer goods share the most portion of goods the province has imported so far this fiscal year.
The province has also granted registration to 18 businesses. Most of them are wood processing factories. Vientiane province has 2,700 industrial and handicraft factories.
Vientiane province also has 14,600 businesses with a total registered investment capital of 1.5 trillion kip.
