Thai investment in Savannakhet soared

(KPL) Thai investment in agriculture production in Savannakhet province is likely increase due to agricultural goods price have hiked.
Main investment of Thai businessmen in Savannakhet province is the plantation of industrial crops including maize, sugarcane, rubber tree and some animal raising project.
In particularly, the cultivation of maize for animal raising which CP Company, a giant company for producing animal feeding is promoting local farmers in Kaisone district to grow maize and the output will be then purchased by the company. Now the maize is covered a considerable agriculture areas in the district.
The Mitrphol Sugar Group of Thailand, the largest exporters of sugar has established a sugar plant in Saybouly district along with promotes local farmers in Champaphone and Outhoumphone districts to plant sugarcane.
The farmers in these districts have already planted more than 4,500 ha of sugarcane and the company plans to pour more than 360 billion kip for boosting farmers about 20,000 ha in this year. This company aims to export its products and sugarcanes which sets goal about 80 percent of export and the rest for domestic market supply.
The production capacity of 72,000 tonnes in the imitative processing and its capacity would increase to 120,000 tonnes.
At the same period, the Savanh Sugar Plant, invested by Thai businessman will invest in the establishment of a sugar plant in Savannakhet province.
There is also a Thai company has begun to grow rubber tree on 2,640 ha of land concession.
