Home-grown foundation helps typhoon Ketsana victims

(KPL) Ms. Sisaliao Thammatheva, President of the Foundation for Assisting Poor People in Laos, distributed blankets and household utensils to poor people in Kangluang village, Lamam district, Sekong province, last week.
This foundation also donated educational items to an ethnic school of this district and five wheel chairs to the Sekong province hospital.
All these aid items, given to Lamam district, were worth 72 million kip, said Ms. Sisaliao Thammatheva, “The assistance was given to Sekong province because it suffered from the damage of typhoon Ketsana in last September.
Our association tried to do its best to provide aid. In this connection, we have been raising funds in Laos, from the government and private sectors and international organisations.”
She added that since our foundation would be continuing with its aid effort, she thus urged individuals and organisations to continue to give generous donations.
