Fund raising for the poor
(KPL) The Talat Sao Shopping Mall and the Millicom Lao (Tigo) has provided 199 million kip fund to the Foundation for Assisting Poor People. Of the fund, 72 million kip stemmed from a charity concert for helping disadvantaged people, which was held at the National Culture Hall on 24-25 December. And the rest, 127 million kip were donated by the general public, local companies and enterprises. The handover ceremony took place at the Talat Sao Shopping Mall, on 15 January. The money was presented by Marketing Director and project developer of the Talat Sao Mall, Mr. Lewis Koo CH, and the Assistant Managing Director of the Millicom Lao, Mr. Khamka Hadaoheuang, to the President of the Foundation for Assisting Poor People, Mrs. Sisaliao Thammatheva. The fund will be allocated to the Sengsouliya Children’s Culture and Arts Promotion Centre for 15 million kip, the National Association of Underprivileged Children’s Assistance for 15 million kip, and 169 million kip for the improvement of living conditions of Lao Hmong repatriates living in Vientiane and Borikhamsay provinces.
