Savannakhet prepares for Lao Travel Year 2012
(KPL) Savannakhet Tourism Service and the tourist entrepreneurs of this central province have discussed a strategy for developing provincial tourism and to prepare for the upcoming celebration of the Lao Travel Year 2012.
The plan was discussed at a meeting of the provincial tourism service in Savannakhet province on 18 August, under the chairmanship of Head of the Provincial Tourism Service, Ms. Bounmy Khantivong.
The meeting was aimed at disseminating the information on the celebration of Lao Travel Year 2012 and the strategy for provincial tourism development to domestic and overseas tourists.
Ms. Bounmy said that in order to ensure the achievement of the upcoming celebration of the Lao Travel Year as planned, the Savannakhet Tourism Service have appointed a committee to take charge of the works and set a plan for events and activities for the celebration.
"In the coming year, the Service will improve officials’ knowledge, raise awareness of local people on being a good host and hospitality for tourists," she continued.
"All services will be ready for the celebration.
Ms. Bounmy also called on relevant authorities and sectors to participate in the development of tourism in the future.
