President visits military post, Kor 1 unit

(KPL) Mr Choummaly Sayasone,Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and State President, paid a working visit to a military post, Kor 1 unit, on the occasion of memorizing the establishment day of the 61st Lao People Army on 19 January.
Mr Choummaly Sayasone was warmly welcomed by Colonel Bounchanh Vilaichith, Political Head of Corp 1 unit, the Party board members and the army control board members.
Colonel Bounchanh Vilaichith gave a briefing to the President about the activities of the department for the past year.
After that, the Secretary General spoke on the tradition of struggle for national salvation and the sacrifice of lives for national revolution by the veterans. The sacrifice and struggle for national salvation, he said had been written in the history book and it would be remembered forever.
The Secretary General then urged the military leaders to maintain the tradition of struggle for national salvation and to inculcate such a spirit into the young military people.
Part of his speech was devoted to giving direction on planning, stating that the military should pay attention to the dissemination of information to the grassroots on the changes in policies, to give help the local people and to be conscious of carrying out people-oriented duties.
Mr Choummaly Sayasone added that the Party boards and the army control boards should improve their operations so as to strengthen the department, to pay attention to the living conditions and well being of the veterans and to ensure that the military training was relevant to the overall strategy of the army.
