Buddha image cast for Phosaysanaram temple

(KPL) Houaphan authorities held a ceremony to mark the beginning of the casting of Buddha image for Vat Phosaysanaram, Samneua district, Houaphan province.
Present at the ceremony were religious leaders, President of Lao Front for National Construction Mr. Sisavath Keobounphanh, Governor of Houaphan Province Dr. Khamphanh Viphavanh, local authorities and people.
MMG Lanxang Minerals Sepon Company has donated 2.5 tonnes of copper for casting the Buddha image.
The newly cast Buddha image will then replace Ongtue Buddha image, which will be moved to Vat Ongtue which is under construction in Ban Phosay, Samneua district.
During the war time, Vat Inpeng in Samneua district was badly damaged. After the war was over and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic was established, religious leaders and people in Houaphan province relocated the temple and renamed it Vat Phosaysanaram.
The temple is now being renovated.
