Vientiane residents urged to cooperate with firemen

 (KPL) Vientiane residents have been urged to give sound cooperation with firemen whenever fire accidents take place.

The firemen receiving money from fire victims has become a talk of the town. If someone found our staff doing so, please call 021 212-707 because stopping fire from burning for people is our duty “Vientiane Capital Fire Station, said last week Lt. Col. Bouathong Keothanongsone, Head of Vientiane Capital Fire Station.

The fire is always exposed dangerous during current season of drought the main reason of fire accidents are the electricity circus and candle using for worship.

Concerning over the dry season, the Vientiane Capital Fire Station is always in the preparedness for fire accident and staff with equipments have been arranged for 24 hours.

He said that the fire prevention we prepared staff with equipment and fired truck in cooperation with relevant sectors including electricity, water supply (Nampapa), fire unit of army to Wattay airport and Vientiane Urban Development Administration Authority (VUDDA).

Last year, 45 fired accidents were reportedly happen, of which 12 two-storey house, two houses, 29 offices and shops and a temple and a petrol truck has been exploded leading to three deaths.

The fire accidents have left 2.7 billion kip, 700,000 baht and US$ 300,000.

Mr Phantho said that now we asked for financial assistance from the government to expand the four more fire prevention office to Nasaythong, Saythany, Saysettha, Hartsayfong districts to ensure the stopping fire from burning on timely manner.
