Four northernmost provinces further promote eco-tourism links
(KPL) Oudomsay province completed its third meeting on tourism promotion linking in four northernmost provinces in Laos last week. A two-day meeting held on 15-16 January, under the chairmanship of Minister to Prime Minister’s Office, Mr Somphong Mongkhonvilay. Participants from four northernmost provinces of Oudomsay, Luang Namtha, Bokeo and Luang Prabang attended the event. The meeting has reviewed the achievements of the tourism linking among four northernmost provinces in the past years so as to address negative issue and further progressive cooperation. They have also discussed a cooperative plan for the next three years. The meeting has approved the future proposal plan on tourism development and cooperation that have been risen by each provinces, particularly in the expansion and development of eco-tourism network, the management of national tourism resource and the improvement of service to attract more tourists. They also discussed annual tourism promotion plan, the preparing plan for the ASEAN tourism ministerial meeting in 2013, which would be hosted in Laos. At the meeting, the Lao National Tourism Administration and other Provincial Tourism Services also presented over 30 million kip of financial assistance to the tourism service to Phongsaly province for promoting the tourism development.
