Vientiane Sport and Gymnastic celebrates Army Day

(KPL) Vientiane Sport and Gymnastic Sector on Tuesday organized the Petanque and Futsal Competitions to mark the 61st Anniversary of Army Day at Buengkhayong Indoor Stadium.
The event drew competitors from Vientiane Sport and Gymnastic, Vientiane Public Security Service, Sisattanak District Sport Office and daily newspaper the Vientiane Mai and the Vientiane Business.
Head of Vientiane Sport and Gymnastic Sector, Mr Somphone Sengsilavong said that this event is to mark the 61st Anniversary of Army Day and the 450th Anniversary of Vientiane Proclamation as the National Capital of Laos as well as to promote people to play sport for their healthy life.He also said that in the coming March onward, Buengkhayong Indoor Stadium will be opened to the public to play Badminton and Futsal games.
During the 25th SEA Games 2009, this stadium was used for Muay and Shuttlecock competitions and Laos has taken five gold, three silver and one bronze medals from Muay and three gold, three silver and one bronze medals from shuttlecock.
