NCMI provides cows to people in Vientiane province

(KPL) The Northern Community Managed Irrigation (NCMI) Project in Vientiane province has provided eight cows totally worth 15.2 million kip to eight families in Saysomboun district to contribute to their poverty reduction.
The handover ceremony of the assistance took place at Phonpha Secondary School, Saysomboune district, Vientiane province on January 19.
Mr. Kouakong, Head of Namten Irrigation I-II Users Group received the presentation of cows from Mr. Kongkham Inphayalath, Deputy Head of the Agriculture and Forestry Service of the province. Mr. Songsay Lattanakhamphet, Head of NCMI in Vientiane province, said two out of the eight families are in Ban Phonpha, three in Ban Hinehouaseua and three in Ban Mouangsoum and most of them don’t have farmland irrigated by NCMI.
“NCMI plans to provide 24 more cows to farmers in Med district and Saysomboun district, Vientiane province in the coming February,” said Mr. Songsay.
