(KPL) The 8th meeting of Party Cell of Khammouane province wound up on 21 August, with a great success, which Mr Khambay Damlath has won a unanimous re-election as Provincial Party Committee Secretary.
The three-day meeting was attended by President of the National Assembly Thongsing Thammavong and 264 permanent Party members of Khammouane province and senior officials.
Mr Thongsing who is also a Politburo member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee, has applauded the successful meeting of Khammouane’s Party Cell, evaluating the implementation of the resolution of the 7th Party Congress and outlining the future strategy for socio-economic development in a provincial political report.
“The report has also highlighted the achievements of Khammouane province in different fields ranging from the maintenance of existing political stability, social development, and security to orderliness. These are fundamental elements to provide favourable condition for local people’s livelihood and national construction,” Mr Thongsing has applauded.
“Despite being hit by natural disaster, global economic-financial crisis and hostile forces, the Party Cell of Khammouane province has so far overcome all difficulties and other challenges through the upraising of fervour and self-strengthening by using their own provincial potential resources for developing and pushing forward socio-economic development,” he continued. “As a result, the GDP rises by 10 per cent annually and per capita income increases to US$887 from US$400”.
