Discussion on land use and allocation in capital city
(KPL) Over 80 land officials from nine districts in Vientiane Capital on August 23 gathered in a meeting on evaluating the result of a survey on land allocation in the capital city.
"We hold this meeting to discuss the result of a survey on land use and allocation in development village clusters and the understanding of people about the importance of land resources," said President of the National Land Management Authority Kham-ouane Boupha.
The Government plans to increase forest coverage up to 70% in 2020 from 40 per cent now and land and forest allocation is among the government’s efforts in increasing forest coverage in the country.
The participants also discussed plan on the allocation of residential land, land conservation to ensure its effective implementation.
Vientiane Mayor Sombath Yialiheu was among participants to the meeting.
