Handicraft producers trained in marketing

(KPL) The Lao Handicraft Association organised a training course on marketing for Lao handicrafts in the southernmost Champassak province, last week.

President of the Lao Handicraft Association, Mrs. Chinda Phommasathith, said the training was mainly aimed at helping the handicraft producers design better products and have better access to marketplace and understand market demand.

She added that after the training the participants should set up handicraft producers’ groups in their localities as such bodies did not exist at places.

Present at the opening ceremony of the training were Vice-President of the Lao Handicraft Association, Mr. Souphoth Manikhong, lecturers and the trainees from seven provinces, Borikhamsay, Khammouane, Savannaket, Saravane, Champassak, Sekong and Attapeu.
