State President to visit Japan
(KPL) A high-ranking delegation of the Lao PDR led by President Choummaly Sayasone will pay a goodwill visit to Japan on 2-6 March.
According to a press release from the ministry of foreign affairs, the visit is in response to an invitation of the Japanese government on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Laos and Japan.
While in Japan, President Choummaly Sayasone will attend a gala reception hosted by Japanese Emperor Akihito and Her Majesty the Queen at their palace in
Tokyo.
He will also meet with Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama.
This is the first official visit made by President Choummaly Sayasone to enhance the friendly relations and
co-operation between Laos and Japan.
