Lao Government presents Friendship Medal to Incheon City
(KPL) The Government of the Lao PDR awarded a Friendship medal to Incheon City, Republic of Korea, in a bid to back Laos for hosting the 25th SEA Games in the end of last year in Vientiane.
In the SEA Games 2009, Incheon City had provided a car and helped training Lao athletes in the Republic of Korea and granted other facilities for Lao athletes, amounting to USD400,000. As a result, Lao athletes took many gold medals in the games.
Minister to Prime Minister’s Office and President of the Sport and Gymnastic Committee, Dr Phouthong Seng-akhom who is also Vice-President of the 25th SEA Games Organising Committee, on behalf of the Lao Government in Vientiane on Monday, presented a Friendship medal to Mr Yoo Yong Sun, Advisor of Incheon Assembly, who is a representative of Incheon City.
Mr Sun has informed that the Incheon City will host the Asian Games in 2014. He has pledged to further support and train Lao athletes, particularly on archery and other sport events .
