NA Vice President urges Namhang and Panghok to do market-oriented production
(KPL) Vice President of National Assembly has urged the authorities of Namhang, Samphanh district, and Panghok, Mai district, in Phongsaly to improve economy of villagers by helping them stop slash and burn cultivation practice and pay attention to market-oriented production. This method, said Mrs. Pany Yathortou, is to help the villagers gradually live over the poverty line. Mrs. Phany visited the two villages on January 20 on the occasion of celebrating Hmong new year. Mrs. Phany and her delegation were warmly welcomed by Mr. Khamsanh Souvong, Governor of Phongsaly province and the authorities of the province. Mrs. Phany also urged the local authorities to pay attention to the politically ideological education, promote solidarity among ethnic people and preserve the cultural diversity in the villages. On this occasion, Mrs. Phany also provided medicines to Namhang and Panghok villagers and visited officials working at the Lao-Chinese border at Sobhoun.
