Champassak develops Mt. Salao and Bachieng Park as tourist attractions
(KPL) Champassak is developing Mount Salao and Bachieng Park to be tourist attractions in this southernmost province.
Mount Salao and Bachieng Park are located in Phonthong district.
“The development of Mount Salao and Bachieng Park as tourist attractions in the province is initiated by a well-known monk Maha Souvanh Chanthalad. He has mobilised local people to participate in developing these sites,” said Governor of Champassak province, Mr. Sonesay Siphandone.
A steering committee for the development project has been established and has the provincial governor as its president.
“The implementation of the tourist site development project will be environment-friendly,” said Mr. Sonesay Siphandone.
The authorities of the province held a meeting last week to discuss the development of these tourist sites with the participation of Champassak Governor, Mr. Sonesay Siphandone, Head of Champassak Tourism Service, Mr. Khamphon Nuansengsy, and representatives of relevant sectors.
The result of the initial survey and designing of the project was also reported to the meeting by Mr. Khamphon Nuansengsy.
