Pakxan starts rural development activities

(KPL) The district of Pakxan in the province of Borlikhamsay is implementing its rural development plan for 2008/2009 along with sending the third batch of cadres to all areas to guide the task of developing the grass-roots.
The plan was discussed and adopted at the last week’s meeting of the district party and administrative committees. Participants agreed that they will first of all try to achieve three major tasks specified in the rural development plan.
The first priority is raising the rice productivity through building more irrigation facilities, training farmers on the application of new farming technique and encouraging banks to provide low-interest credit services to farmers. This will be followed by promoting income generating activities among farmers, especially short-term crop growing, cattle raising and handicraft production where possible. The last will be improving the life quality of the people through social and cultural development among the community.
Cadres assigned to grass-root development activities in each areas will coordinate with local administration in carrying out the tasks.
