Party leader asks war veterans and retired officials to strengthen unity

(KPL) Mr. Choummaly Sayasone, Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and State President, has asked senior officials of the National War Veterans’ Association who attended its second congress closed on 25 February at the Ministry of National Defence to further strengthening the unity.

Mr. Choummaly Sayasone who spoke on behalf of the Party and Government also expressed congratulations to the association for its achievements and contributions to the national socio-economic development made in the past few years.

He told the association officials about the current issues and situations in which all of them must be highly responsible, enhancing the unity as one under the leadership of the party and concentrating all their great efforts and contributions to national
development.

He also suggested the association’s senior officials to take the two strategic tasks of national defence and construction as the main work of all state organisations.

President Choummaly Sayasone also suggested the veterans’ association to take the directions and policy of the party and state to create their work plan based on the real conditions of the country.

He said that the veterans are experienced and skilled peoples in the movement of national liberation as well as in the national development process from which the new generation should learn.

Mr. Choummaly Sayasone concluded that the Party and State had always given priority and been convinced in the association and hoped that all veterans at central and local levels would further strengthen the traditions and move forward the way guided by the Party.
