Savannakhet assesses local education development

(KPL) Education executives of Savannakhet province on Feb 23-24 held a meeting to assess the education development for the first half of the 2009-2010 academic year.

“In the first half of this academic year, the authorities of this central province have promoted school aged children to enroll in schools and improved schooling infrastructures to ensure the education development and the contribution to poverty reduction in the province,” said Head of the Education Service of Savannakhet province, Mr. Khamphoun Touphaythoun.

The implementation of the 6th five-year education development plan of Savannakhet province will come to an end in this academic year 2009-2010, according to Mr. Khamphoune.
