Growing rice in Borikhamxay

(KPL) The deputy head of Agriculture and Forestry sector of Borikhamxay provinec, Mr Philavong Sisoutho, disclose on 24 June, that rice is being planted on 33,000 hectares of land in this province.
Mr Philavong, said that presently, the local farmers were in the process of sowing and transplantation rice on 12,863 hectares of land and the estimated yield per hectare is 3.42 tons.
As the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) donated rice seeds to four districts, Pakxan, Thaphabath, Pakkading, and Borikhamxay and this will boost the yield of rice.
