Dr Bounlai said at this meeting that the people who are in the public transport service should be on the alert and take precautions when they are in the places where there is a likelihood of contracting this disease and such places are: airports, international and local borders, Northern and Southern bus stations, dormitories of workers, hotels, guest-houses, entertainment joints and tourism sites.
Dr Bounlai said that Laos has three cases of swine flu, a 27-year old Australian who was detected with this virus on 15 June and the second case involved two Americans, a mother and her son and they were found to be suffering from swine flu on 21 and 23 June respectively.
These cases did not in originate in Laos but it came from overseas and the government is working hard to monitor the situation and to take all available precautions to try to prevent it from spreading.
