Vietnamese President urges Luang Namtha to enhance ties with Vietnamese counterparts

(KPL) President Nguyen Minh Triet of Vietnam has asked Luang Namtha Governor Phimmasone Leuangkhamma to enhance solidarity and lesson exchange with Vietnamese provinces to create incentives for enhancing the special solidarity and all-round cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.

The Vietnamese President visited the northern province of Laos on August 25, the second day of his three-day state visit to Laos, to enhance ties and cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen, spouse and his delegation received warm welcome from Luang Namtha Governor Phimmasone Leuangkhamma and leading officials of the province.

Luang Namtha Governor informed Vietnam’s President Nguyen Minh Triet of the socio-economic development over the past five years in his province, the development of relations and cooperation between Luang Namtha province and its counterparts in northern Vietnam.

He told the Vietnamese President that the province and its Vietnamese counterparts had maintained constant visit exchange to enhance technical exchange in various areas and mutual help, eventually to strengthen the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation of the two Parties, States and peoples of Laos and Vietnam.

On the occasion, the Vietnamese President presented 30 computer sets, VND 15 billion and USD 150,000 to the provincial authorities for infrastructure development in the province.

The Vietnamese President and his delegation also visited the Vietnamese government-funded projects in the province, including the Lao-Vietnamese Friendship Cultural Hall of Luang Namtha, the Luang Namtha Provincial Public Administration and Politics School, the Oudomsine Kindergarten, and the office of the National Assembly’s third constituency for Luang Namtha province
