Security minister visits Luaug Namtha province

(KPL) Mr. Thongbanh Sengaphone, Minister of Public Health has recently visited the northern province of Luang Namtha, where he was received by provincial governor Phimmasone Leuangkhamma, and local officials, veterans and people.Mr. Thongbanh was told by the provincial administration about the characteristics of the locality. Luang Namtha is a small province located in the northern Laos and consisted of five districts.
This province is home of more than 150,000 people, who primarily live on rice farming. Its rice growing areas is over 6,000 hectares while the slash and burn farming area still covers more than 8,000 hectares. So far its rice output is concerned, a people receives 340kg paddy per year.
On his visit, Mr. Thongbanh Sengaphone also toured several villages where he talked to village administrations and observed the living conditions as well as production activities of local people.
