New style Lao-Oshi market to open in July

(KPL) The Lao-Oshi market, now under construction and located in 9 km, No 13 road north, Nongteang village, Sikhottabong district, Vientiane, will open its doors to the public next month.
Mr Kommary Sykhampheng, the marketing manager of Lao-Oshi market said that this niche market would be dealing with agricultural and animal husbandry products. Mr Kommary said that the policy of the government with regard to the Vientiane Commercial-Industry sector of Vientiane is to move the established markets like Nongchan, Sikhai, That Luang, and Thongkhankham to the outskirts of the city, to such places like Nongteang, Houayhong, Sounmon markets.
He also said that the sitting of Lao-Oshi market followed closely the guidelines of the Vientiane Commercial-Industry sector to relocate markets so as to better distribute fresh goods to local people in Vientiane.
