Farmers’ living condition improvement reviewed
(KPL) The Bokeo Province Agriculture and Forestry Service organised a meeting on Lao PDR Northern Region Sustainable Livelihoods Development which is operating in five northern provinces on February 3.
The participants reviewed the implementation of the project in the last few years in Bokeo, Luang Namtha, Xiengkhouang, Houaphanh and Luang Prabang. The project is aimed at improving the living conditions of farmers in the provinces by promoting their animal husbandry through applying proper techniques in raising livestock to ensure their high yielding livestock.
They also discussed the translation of the policies of Party and government on food production to reduce the poverty of Lao people.
At the meeting Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Dr. Ti Phommachack, asked the participants to pay more attention to assessing the management of the project activities.
Present at the meeting were Vice-Governor of Bokeo province, Mr. Amphone Chanthasomboune, steering committees of the project and relevant
officials.
