Laos donates 84 million kip for earthquake victims in Haiti

(KPL) The Lao government has presented a donation package of 84.9 million kip (USD 10,000) to the United Nations for helping the victims of earthquake in Haiti. Over 200,000 people have been reportedly killed in the earthquake, triggered on January 12.
The handover of the package took place at the office of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Haiti to the United Nations in New York, US, on 29 January and was performed by Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR to the United Nations Mrs. Kannika Phommachanh and Permanent Representative of Haiti to the United Nations, Mr. Leo Merores.
